The Long Goodnight

You say goodnight. They call you back. Again.

You say goodnight.
They call you back.
Again.

It's 9pm. They're tired. You're exhausted. And somehow, sleep still feels miles away.

You've tried the bedtime story. The sleep music. Maybe even the melatonin. Maybe all of them on the same night.

Here's the thing: your child isn't giving you a hard time. Their body just isn't ready to let go yet.

“It still feels like you're there,
even when you've stepped away.”
“It still feels like you're there,

Kinrest doesn’t try to talk your child into sleep. It uses gentle, body-first cues to help them wind down instead.

Made for children at that in-between stage. Strong and independent in so many ways, but falling asleep on their own is still the tricky part.

Meet Kinling, the first product from Kinrest.

A screen-free bedtime companion designed to help children shift from wired to ready for sleep.

A comforting sense of being held

Gentle pressure creates a steady, reassuring feeling your child can relax into.

A slow, soothing rise and fall

A gentle, repeating rhythm that works quietly in the background as the body slows towards sleep.

Gentle cues for winding down

Soft sound adds another gentle layer. Warmth is part of the experience too, and we’re still refining exactly how it’s delivered.

How It Works

How It Works

Every night, a little easier.

Every night, a little easier.

Every child settles differently, so parents can personalise Kinling’s sensory routine around what feels right for their child, then keep it familiar night after night.

The goal isn’t to replace you at bedtime. It’s to give your child some of that familiar comfort through Kinling, so falling asleep doesn’t always depend on you being right beside them.

Screen-free by design. No videos, games or content to follow — just a low-demand sensory experience designed for bedtime.

Tested in real homes, with real families.

there. I just didn't know how to change

that without it turning into a battle.”

Sally Wood, founder of Kinrest

Why I’m building Kinrest

Hi, I’m Sally, founder of Kinrest.

For a lot of families, bedtime is the hardest part of the day. I know what it’s like to lie beside a child waiting for them to fall asleep, watching the evening disappear and wondering why something so simple can feel so hard.

And I knew I wasn’t the only one. While running a community for mums, I heard the same story again and again: different children and different families, but that same familiar bedtime loop.

What stayed with me was how easily children can settle when someone they love is right there, and how much harder it can feel once they’re on their own. Kinrest grew from a simple question: could we extend some of that familiar comfort into the moment a parent steps away?

That’s what I’m creating with Kinling: a gentle, screen-free bedtime companion designed to make nights a little easier for the whole family, while helping children feel more confident falling asleep without needing you right beside them.

We’re still learning and refining, alongside the families Kinrest is being created for.
